Las Olas Art Show
The Fort Lauderdale Historical Society was prominent at the recent Art Show on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale recently.Brendan on a "long weekend" in Buenos Aires
Brendan enjoys a ride on the bus in BA. He had a great time meeting new friends and other Ferrellis in Argentina.What a good looking bus, not to mention that dude who is strap hanging on the bus.

Huge Success at Fort Lauderdale Historical Society
Last night, May 29, the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society and Curator Margo Edwards collaborated with the Gold Jazz Society to produce the openings of two jazz related exhibits. These exhibits are open to the public for the rest of the summer.
Charles Mills: Portraits in Jazz and Life by revered local artist Charles Mills, includes many jazz legends as well as other aspects of African-American culture and heritage. Mr. Mills was present enjoying the music, friendship and myriad compliments on his genius of technique. One of his favorite techniques is "scratchboard" wherein the board is covered in India ink, allowed to dry, and then the image is scratched into the board.
On the second floor of the FLHS's New River Inn Jazz in Fort Lauderdale exhibits the history of jazz music in Fort Lauderdale, from world-renowned legends to homegrown talents, not to mention the hottest clubs in the area!
This was a fabulous night of wonderful jazz, camaraderie and great food donated by Briny, The Downtowner and Storck's.
Christine's Restaurant on Oakland Park Boulevard near Bayview donated a gift certificate which was raffled off and won by a grateful reveller.
Hot and cool jazz filled the night inside and around the grounds of the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society which is located at the intersection of the New River and the FEC railroad tracks and behind Tarpon Bend Restaurant.
